- Contrition — heartfelt sorrow of sin which includes fear of God's judgment
- Confession — telling God what you did to violate his commands
- Confidence — trust in God's promise to forgive you for Jesus' sake
- Correction — you try to fix what you destroyed by your sin
- Change — you work with God's help to try and never repeat this sin
